Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care to patients post-cardiac surgery, including but not limited to CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR procedures. The RN will work within a fast-paced environment and must demonstrate expertise in managing critical cardiovascular cases and associated technologies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to cardiac surgery patients, utilizing advanced monitoring and intervention techniques.
• Manage complex IV medications, including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Perform chest tube insertions/removals and manage ventilated patients.
• Conduct assessments and monitor patients post-operatively for complications.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Jersey or Compact RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience; SICU experience may be considered with prior CVICU training.
• Proficient in caring for fresh post-op cardiac cases and familiar with Impella, IABP, and CRRT modalities.
