Job Description

The position is for a registered nurse with experience in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to patients recovering from cardiac surgeries, ensuring their stability and comfort during their recovery period.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for fresh post-op cardiac cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, and TAVR.
• Utilize advanced cardiac equipment such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT using PrisMax.
• Administer medication, including continuous IV paralytics and sedation.
• Perform critical procedures including chest tube insertion/removal, ventilator management, and monitoring of dysrhythmias.
• Conduct assessments and respond to emergency situations efficiently.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU experience; SICU experience may be considered with initial training in CVICU.
• Experience with fresh post-op cardiac cases is essential.
