Progressive Care Registered Nurse

Schedule

Scheduled for 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours. No call required.

Job Description

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse will provide primary nursing care in a 15-bed unit that includes 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpret telemetry strips.
• Perform fingerstick blood sugar tests and respond appropriately to results.
• Utilize Meditech charting and Pyxis for medication administration.
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and operate BIPAP as needed.
• Float to other acute units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 1 year of acute care hospital experience within the last year.
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred.
• Current Hawaii Registered Nurse license is required upon assignment start date.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred.
