Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) with expert experience in performing sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and triage as required.
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to baby-friendly protocols and breastfeeding support.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing; 1.5 years may be considered depending on additional expertise.
• Must hold current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, and NRP certifications.
• Epic charting experience is required.
• Valid RN license (Compact license preferred) must be in hand at the time of submission.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Must be open to working weekends, with potential requirement to exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs. Availability to work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) is also required.
