Pediatric MRI Technologist

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, with some flexibility for holidays based on unit needs.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric MRI Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will efficiently operate the MRI machine, ensure patient comfort before and during scanning procedures, and coordinate with physicians to deliver timely diagnostic results. Experience in scanning infants through age 18 and a strong understanding of age-appropriate care is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
• Coordinate with physicians to deliver diagnostic imaging.
• Prepare patients for scans and explain procedures.
• Document all procedures, maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Provide necessary patient care tasks.
• Adhere to MRI safety policies and guidelines.
• Adjust scanning parameters based on patient ages.
• Screen and prepare patients for scanning efficiently.
• Identify contraindications for safe scanning.
• Determine when scans must be stopped due to motion or need for sedation/anesthesia.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of two (2) years of MRI Technologist experience.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Siemens scanner experience is required.
• Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred.
• At least six (6) months of pediatric experience.
• ARRT certification is a plus.
• NYS Rad Tech License (must obtain prior to start if not currently held).
