MICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 12-Hour Night Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 12-hour night shift position. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit, demonstrating competency in critical patient care. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care for patients with serious health conditions, including cardiac arrest, sepsis, and more.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for critically ill patients in the MICU.
• Titrate intravenous drips such as pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, and insulin as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including residents and fellows, to ensure optimal patient care.
• Respond to codes and rapid response team calls as a charge nurse without a patient assignment.
• Manage and monitor telemetry readings, interpreting cardiac strips as necessary.
• Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the healthcare team promptly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• Certifications required: BLS and ACLS; CCRN preferred.
• Previous experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit is mandatory.
• Familiarity with critical care equipment and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.

Schedule

This is a 12-hour night shift position, requiring flexibility with scheduling and availability for at least two weekends per four-week schedule.
