Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00) with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is responsible for the care of critically ill patients, managing complex medical conditions, and providing high-quality nursing care. This role requires the ability to handle diverse patient diagnoses and perform critical interventions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load of 2:1, occasionally 1:1 based on acuity.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as ordered.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and lab results.
• Provide care for patients with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, and multi-organ failure.
• Utilize EPIC for charting patient information and documentation.
• Implement nurse-driven ECMO protocols and manage ventilated patients.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York State RN license in hand.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
• Ability to handle complex care including cardiac drips and CRRT.
