Medical Technician - Evening Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Evenings, Monday through Friday, 2 PM to 10:30 PM, with weekend and holiday rotation.

Job Description

The Medical Technician is responsible for supporting high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory. Key responsibilities include preparing specimens for testing, performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, ensuring quality control, troubleshooting errors, maintaining laboratory instruments, and communicating technical information effectively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests.
• Conduct quality control measures and troubleshoot quality control errors.
• Recognize and evaluate computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Participate in continuing education and assist in training laboratory personnel.
• Communicate normal and abnormal test values to appropriate personnel.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or relevant field.
• Certification as a Medical Technician by ASCP BOC or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred, particularly in Hematology and/or Chemistry.
