Medical Technologist - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: Nights, 9p-7:30a, rotating 7 on/7 off with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Medical Technologist supports high-quality laboratory testing in a clinical laboratory setting. Responsibilities include preparing specimens for testing, performing routine and specialized laboratory tests, conducting quality control, troubleshooting quality control errors, and performing maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests and specialized laboratory tests.
• Recognize and evaluate computer data problems and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
• Assist with training laboratory personnel in routine procedures.
• Participate in continuing education and quality assurance activities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate of Science degree in Medical Technology or a relevant medical or scientific discipline.
• Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP BOC or equivalent is required.
• At least 2 years of experience preferred, particularly in Hematology and/or Chemistry.
