Cardiac OR RNFA - 3x12 Shift

Job Description

The Cardiac OR RN First Assistant (RNFA) is responsible for facilitating optimal patient care in the operating room, specifically within cardiac surgery. This position requires expertise in assisting with chest exposure, closing, and performing vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass grafts (CABGs). The RNFA will work primarily during weekday shifts with on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closing in cardiac surgeries.
• Perform vein harvesting for CABGs independently.
• Participate in Da Vinci robotic cases, if preferred.
• Scrub and circulate during complex cardiac procedures, including CABGs and structural heart cases.
• Support heart transplant surgeries, ideally with prior experience.

Schedule

This position operates on a 3x12 hour schedule, primarily from 7 AM to 7 PM and 11 AM to 11 PM.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of experience as a cardiac RNFA.
• New York State RN License.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• CNOR certification.
• Telemetry experience required.
