Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) - Rotating Shift Schedule

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) provides critical care to a diverse patient population encompassing various surgical specialties in a Level 1 trauma center. The ideal candidate will be experienced in scrubbing and circulating during surgical procedures, with particular expertise in handling specialty cases such as transplants, craniotomies, and a strong background in orthopedics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Scrub and circulate in the operating room during various surgical cases.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and their overall condition pre-, during, and post-operation.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in emergency procedures as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN license in New York State (NY license only).
• Two (2) years of experience in an operating room within a Level 1 trauma center.
• Able to scrub and circulate surgical procedures competently.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required).
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Telemetry experience is highly desired.

Schedule

This role operates on a rotating shift schedule, requiring on-call/callback availability, including floating, holidays, and weekends based on unit needs.
