Job Description

This position provides optimal patient care utilizing knowledge and skills within the context of the nursing process. The incumbent is accountable for individualized patient outcomes over an entire episode of care, demonstrating the cognitive and psychosocial needs specific to the population served. The Registered Nurse coordinates care between other professionals as needed, ensuring quality is maintained through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing services to neonates in a Level 3 NICU environment.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing nursing interventions as necessary.
• Educate parents and caregivers on care techniques and patient management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care outcomes.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 3 years of exclusive NICU experience in a Level 3 NICU or higher.
• Ventilator training required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Nevada Registered Nurse license prior to hire.
• Current BLS and NRP certifications.
• Prior travel experience of one 13-week assignment is required.
