Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule

Shifts are available for nights, requiring a rotation of 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM or 7 AM to 7 PM. Candidates can work either 36 or 48 hours per week, with a commitment to working at least 1 weekend shift weekly or 2 weekend shifts every other week. Must also be available for at least one holiday during the contract.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care in the Orthopedic Unit (SE6), ensuring a high standard of nursing practice and patient care. The nurse will be expected to float to other units as needed and may be required to assume charge responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to orthopedic patients.
• Monitor patients' health status and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Document patient care and treatment in EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years recent acute medical-surgical, telemetry, neuro, and orthopedic nursing experience.
• Active RN license in New York State.
• Current NIHSS Certification and AHA BLS Certification.
• 2 years of U.S. work experience required for non-U.S. candidates.
