Critical Care Registered Nurse (MICU)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shifts (3x12 Hour) from 06:30 to 19:00. Weekends are required, and float may be necessary depending on staffing needs.

Job Description

Join a high-acuity, fast-paced Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) that provides care for critically ill patients with complex medical conditions. You will be responsible for managing patients experiencing respiratory failure, cardiac events, and multisystem organ failure, among other critical illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medically complex and critically ill patients.
• Manage ventilated patients, including noninvasive and mechanical ventilation support.
• Perform bedside procedures such as central line placements, rapid sequence intubation, and chest tube placements.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Assess and document patient care using the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with compact eligibility.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in critical care.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience in a Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, arterial line management, and ventilator management.
