Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse

Schedule

3x12 Hour Shifts (06:30 - 19:00) with weekend coverage required.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to medically complex and critically ill patients. The MICU focuses on patients with respiratory failure, multisystem organ failure, and post-cardiac arrest care. This fast-paced environment requires a nurse adept in high acuity care and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for critically ill patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation and advanced monitoring.
• Conduct bedside procedures such as central line and arterial line placements, chest tube insertion, and intubations.
• Manage complex medical conditions including COVID-19, ARDS, DKA, and alcohol withdrawal.
• Float to telemetry units if patient census requires.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a high acuity setting.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory.
• Experience with Epic charting system preferred.
• Must hold a valid Compact RN license in hand at submission.
