Physical Therapist - Acute Care

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, Tuesday to Saturday, 08:00 - 16:30.

Job Description

The Physical Therapist will provide inpatient physical therapy services in an acute care setting, primarily focusing on treatment of patients with medical-surgical conditions. The ideal candidate must possess strong time management skills and the ability to work independently, especially on Saturdays when the Physical Therapist will be the only therapist in the unit.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient evaluations and develop individual treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic interventions to facilitate healing and improve mobility.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment processes and home exercise programs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in physical therapy, with a focus on acute care preferred.
• Current California state license as a Physical Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Experience with Epic or similar electronic charting systems is preferred.
