Sterile Processing Technician

Location

Traveling position available in a Level I Trauma Center.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-Hour Shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sunday (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with holiday rotation.

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Sterile Processing Technician with Level 1 Trauma experience to ensure the decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of surgical instruments and medical devices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in sterilization processes and be proficient in preparing various types of surgical cases.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Assemble and wrap instruments sets for surgery.
• Monitor sterilization equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation regarding sterilization processes and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to handle instrument needs for various procedures.
• Float to related departments as necessary to meet facility needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, particularly in a Level 1 Trauma environment.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.
• Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases is preferred.
• BLS certification is not required.
