Acute Emergency Psych Nurse - Adults & Pediatrics

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

07:00 PM - 07:30 AM, 36 hours per week (3x12), every other weekend with rotating holiday coverage. No on-call requirements.

Job Description

The Acute Emergency Psych Nurse will provide comprehensive care for adult and pediatric patients in an emergency setting. This position requires a strong commitment to patient safety and mental health awareness. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to navigate acute psychiatric situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Deliver emergency psychiatric care to both adult and pediatric patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions.
• Manage acute psychiatric crises with appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Document patient care accurately in the EHR (Epic).
• Engage in continuous education and training to maintain competency in psychiatric care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid nursing license (RN) for the state of practice.
• BLS and CPI certifications are required.
• Completion of Trinity’s various professional checks and documentation prior to onboarding.
• Prior experience in acute psychiatric settings is preferred.
