Orthopedic Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 20-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12 Nights (19:00 - 07:30), with every other weekend and holiday required as scheduled.

Job Description

The Orthopedic Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for patients in the orthopedic unit, specializing in joint replacements, fracture repairs, and spine surgeries. This role requires a strong background in orthopedics and telemetry nursing.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and monitor patient's vital signs.
• Provide care for patients undergoing orthopedic operations, including joint replacements and spines.
• Utilize telemetry systems to monitor and interpret patients' heart rhythms.
• Administer PCA pumps and manage nursing care related to orthopedic and medical-surgical patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an orthopedic or telemetry nursing role.
• Current RN license in the state of Maryland or Compact License.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required.
• Preferred experience with charge nursing duties and familiarity with telemetry monitoring.
