PACU RN (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) - Day Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day 3x12-Hour shifts (07:30 - 19:00). Start times may vary from 07:30 to 10:30. If working in Pre-op, start time can be as early as 06:00. On-call duties required, must report to PACU within 30 minutes when on call.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PACU RN to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in monitoring vital signs and managing patient care following anesthesia. This role requires the ability to recognize and respond to complications, administer medications, and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and level of consciousness post-anesthesia.
• Administer and titrate medications, including pain management and reversal agents.
• Recognize and respond to airway complications effectively.
• Manage IV lines and administer fluids and medications as needed.
• Document patient progress and care interventions accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
• Provide care for patients recovering from various major surgeries including general, vascular, neuro, and orthopedic surgery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active California RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
• 2-3 years of PACU or critical care experience with adult and pediatric patients.
• Experience in pre-operative care preferred.
