Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while also orienting new staff members. The RN plays a crucial role in promoting patient and employee safety in alignment with organizational priorities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, delivering direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, anticipating patient needs for a smooth transition.
- Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to support continuity of care and ensure patient safety.
- Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, effectively managing time and priorities.
- Assure personal and environmental safety by adhering to hospital and nursing policies and procedures.
- Contribute positively to the unit by providing calm direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families.
- Monitor supplies and equipment needs, communicating with management to ensure efficient operations.
- Assume charge responsibility upon request, following the initial orientation period.
- Actively pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.

This is a night shift position with a 3x12.0 schedule.
