5x8 hours, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday with holiday rotation.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and supplies in a Level I Trauma Center. The technician must ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and prepared for surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments.
• Assemble, wrap, and prepare surgical trays for procedures.
• Assist in the monitoring of sterilization processes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterile processing area.
• Provide support in training new staff and assisting with inspections.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping.
• Preferred experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases.
• National certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA required.
• BLS certification not required but preferred.
