Mid 5x8-Hour Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday with holiday rotation.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment in a Level 1 Trauma Center and Teaching Facility. This role requires a solid understanding of sterilization and assembly processes, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, sterilize, assemble, and wrap instrumentation and other sterile supplies.
• Utilize appropriate procedures for immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) and high-level disinfection (HLD).
• Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to understand instrument needs for various procedures.
• Participate in quality control initiatives and training for new staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings is required.
• Certification from CBSPD or HSPA is mandatory.
• Experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, orthopedic, transplant, and gynecological cases is preferred.
