Sterile Processing Technician

This is a 13-week contract position, working a Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) from 19:00 to 07:30.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols to ensure a sterile environment in the surgical settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform decontamination and sterilization procedures on medical instruments.
• Assemble and wrap surgical instrument sets in compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain proper inventory of sterile items and report any discrepancies.
• Ensure proper functioning of sterilization equipment and perform routine checks.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to meet operational needs.

Required Experience / Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Sterile Processing.
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma settings is required.
• National certifications: CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.
• No first-timers accepted.
