Job Description

The Med/Surg Tele Unit is seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) who are proficient in phlebotomy and IV placement, which are mandatory skills for this role. The unit serves as a 14-bed overflow area for several months to accommodate patients waiting in the Emergency Department (ED). It operates within the GI Endoscopy space, providing flexibility in patient capacity based on demand.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and monitor patient reactions.
• Perform vital sign monitoring and assess patient conditions.
• Facilitate communication of patient status changes to RNs and MDs.
• Practice isolation precautions and ensure patient safety.
• Provide care for patients with various medical conditions, including telemonitoring.
• Engage in collaborative care with interdisciplinary support teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting.
• Current RN license in New York required.
• EPIC charting experience is mandatory.
• Preferred previous charge nurse experience.
