Job Description

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our Med/Surg Tele Unit. This role requires mandatory competencies in phlebotomy and IV placement, which are essential skills for any RN in our facility. This 14-bed overflow unit will function to accommodate ED boarder patients, providing flexible space within our GI Endoscopy area. Patient volumes may vary based on boarder numbers and demand.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a med/surg tele unit.
• Monitor vital signs and manage patients’ needs effectively.
• Administer medications and perform IV placements and phlebotomy.
• Communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team.
• Participate in patient admission processes and manage feeding tube care.
• Support patients with various diagnoses, including collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a Med/Surg or Tele unit.
• Current and valid New York RN license is required in hand for submission.
• Mandatory competency in phlebotomy and IV insertions.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is essential.
• Charge experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
