Registered Nurse - Nights

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) working the night shift. The RN will function as both a caregiver and care manager, assuming responsibility for patient care while also directing and supervising other caregivers. This role emphasizes critical thinking, patient assessment, and the implementation of care plans in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessment and data collection focusing on physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
• Implement patient care in adherence to established procedures and care plans.
• Identify and address patient learning needs and readiness for learning.
• Document patient care and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records or paper processes.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to patient and family rights, ensuring equitable care.
• Effectively delegate and supervise patient care activities among coworkers.
• Maintain organized and prioritized workflows utilizing critical thinking skills.
• May function as Charge Nurse, overseeing admissions, discharges, and staffing coordination.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in nursing practices.
• Adhere to safety requirements and organizational policies at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN Licensure.
• Healthcare Provider Level of BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred within specified timeframes for specialty nursing.
• Minimum of one year of acute care RN experience preferred for specialty units.
• Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
