Registered Nurse - Nights
Job Description
This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) working the night shift. The RN will function as both a caregiver and care manager, assuming responsibility for patient care while also directing and supervising other caregivers. This role emphasizes critical thinking, patient assessment, and the implementation of care plans in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform assessment and data collection focusing on physiological, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
- Implement patient care in adherence to established procedures and care plans.
- Identify and address patient learning needs and readiness for learning.
- Document patient care and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records or paper processes.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to patient and family rights, ensuring equitable care.
- Effectively delegate and supervise patient care activities among coworkers.
- Maintain organized and prioritized workflows utilizing critical thinking skills.
- May function as Charge Nurse, overseeing admissions, discharges, and staffing coordination.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current in nursing practices.
- Adhere to safety requirements and organizational policies at all times.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Washington State RN Licensure.
- Healthcare Provider Level of BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred within specified timeframes for specialty nursing.
- Minimum of one year of acute care RN experience preferred for specialty units.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
