Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position, with the potential for extension up to 26 weeks for interested candidates.

7 on, 7 off nights from 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist will work in a fast-paced Emergency Room laboratory providing high-quality laboratory services. The role involves performing Point of Care Testing and supporting laboratory operations through clerical duties as assigned by the Nursing and Lab Directors.

Responsibilities

• Daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on analyzers.
• Perform patient testing, including waived and non-waived tests.
• Process specimens, order tests, centrifuge specimens, and prepare send-outs for transport.
• Restock lab supplies and maintain routine cleaning of lab surfaces.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have MLS or MLT certification through ASCP or an equivalent organization.
• At least 2 years of experience working in a hospital laboratory environment.
• Preferred: Experience with EPIC and analyzers such as Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Clineteck, and others listed.
