Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care

This position requires a 12-hour day shift with flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing quality care during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. This position involves working in a Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) setting, with mothers and newborns in the same room.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for women during labor and delivery, and the postpartum period.
• Monitor and support newborns, ensuring their immediate health and well-being.
• Participate in charge nurse duties after completing charge nurse training, as needed.
• Cover and float to other departments occasionally based on competency and qualification.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of five (5) years of recent nursing experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care.
• Current certifications required: American Heart Association ACLS or ALSO, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced FHM. RNC-EFM can be substituted for AWHONN FHM.
