Travel Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Nights, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend, with floating and call required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse serves with accountability for providing comprehensive care throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetric care. This role involves utilizing the Nursing Process in alignment with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies, demonstrating critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and delivering safe patient care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist laboring patients.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare providers.
• Circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections.
• Triage patients competently from 20 weeks gestation onwards.
• Attend deliveries, supporting newborn resuscitation.
• Recover both vaginal and cesarean deliveries.
• Provide care to antepartum patients requiring labor and delivery services.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• A minimum of 2 previously completed travel assignments in Labor and Delivery.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications are required.
• Preferred experience with CPN and Cerner.
