Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Schedule

This position requires an 8-hour shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, working Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, plus two Wednesdays a month as needed. There is a weekend requirement of one Saturday per month.

Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform cardiac nuclear stress testing, utilizing specialized equipment and systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring the safety and comfort of patients while conducting procedures and maintaining compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer and prepare radiopharmaceuticals for patients.
• Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and evaluate radio images for diagnostic value.
• Provide radiation protection for patients and staff in accordance with prescribed safety measures.
• Calibrate equipment and assay radionuclides accurately.
• Maintain records of radioactive materials in compliance with regulations.
• Follow NRC and JCAHO guidelines during all procedures.
• Perform daily clerical duties associated with patient scheduling and studies.
• Adhere to all policies regarding standards of behavior, attendance, and patient care.
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding during procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• Familiarity with NUCTRAC, EPIC, ISCV Philips reporting systems, and Digirad camera operation.
• Ability to start IVs and perform cardiac nuclear stress tests.
