Sterile Processing Technician

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, 5x8 hours, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday with holiday rotation. Weekend rotation may be required.

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and equipment. The position will require floating within scope to meet facility needs and may involve assignments at sister facilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization and decontamination procedures on medical equipment.
• Assemble and wrap surgical instruments and sets according to established protocols.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and sterilization protocols.
• Participate in quality control measures, including testing and monitoring sterilization processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and inventory of sterilized items.
• Assist in training and orientation of new staff members as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, with Level I Trauma experience required.
• National certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA are required.
• Experience with sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping SPT.
• Preferred experience with Neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and GYN cases.
