Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Long Term Care

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality nursing care to patients in a Long Term Care facility. The LPN will serve as an effective member of the nursing staff, utilizing their scope of practice while ensuring respect for patient rights and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards and practices.
• Assist in the management of patient care plans and participate in a collaborative team environment.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments as directed.
• Educate patients and their families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Participate in special committees as appropriate and represent nursing professionalism.

Schedule

This position is for day shifts with guaranteed hours of 32 per week, totaling approximately 13 weeks for this contract assignment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate from an accredited school for LPNs or LVNs.
• New graduates are accepted; one year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
• Must be licensed in good standing as an LPN in the State of Alaska.
• Current CPR certification (BCLS) is required.
• IV certification course is also required.
