Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30).

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry and Orthopedic care to join our team. The RN will provide specialized care for patients on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit, focusing on post-operative management and telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with orthopedic and telemetric needs.
• Monitor and manage patients post-surgical interventions including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including Heparin drips and post-surgical care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient recovery through integrated pain management and physical therapy.
• Utilize telemetry equipment for monitoring patient vital signs and respond promptly to any significant changes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding post-operative care and recovery.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the electronic health record (EPIC).

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse with a valid South Carolina or multistate license.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry, specifically orthopedic care.
• CERTIFICATIONS: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.
• Proficient with EPIC electronic health record system (1 year experience required).
