Registered Nurse - Palliative/Stroke Unit

Assignment Duration

This is a 16-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts, 12 hours from 7 PM to 7 AM. Options available for 36 or 48 hours per week, with 1 weekend shift required each week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend. Must work at least 1 holiday during the contract period.

Job Description

Join our dedicated team in the Palliative/Stroke Unit, where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients. You will engage in a fast-paced environment focused on acute medical and surgical needs, specifically addressing stroke care and palliative services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in acute medical-surgical settings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using EPIC charting.
• Be flexible and willing to float to other units as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 1 year of recent experience in acute medical-surgical or telemetry nursing.
• A minimum of 2 years of U.S. work experience is required for non-U.S. candidates.
• Active RN license in New York (NY).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• NIHSS certification preferred.
