Physical Therapist Assistant - Day Shift, 13 Weeks Contract

Job Description

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a Registered Physical Therapist (RPT) to provide essential physical therapy services according to the patient plan of care, contributing to the rehabilitation staff in achieving optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide treatment to patients as prescribed by a physician, following evaluations made by the RPT.
• Implement care plans developed with the RPT to relieve pain, enhance function, and maintain maximum performance using physical means.
• Direct and assist patients in both active and passive exercises, muscle re-education, gait training, and activities of daily living.
• Utilize equipment including ultra-violet and infrared lamps, diathermy, and ultrasound machines.
• Observe, record, and report patient reactions to treatment and any changes in patient condition to the RPT.
• Educate patients and caregivers on self-care techniques as appropriate.
• Coordinate with the health agency for equipment availability for patients.
• Complete and submit accurate clinical notes and documentation in a timely manner according to agency standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance.
• Current licensure in New Hampshire or Vermont.
• Valid Driver’s License and agency-level auto insurance.
