Registered Nurse - Healthcare Setting

Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves directing and coordinating nursing care for patients, collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective care, and ensuring the best possible patient outcomes. The RN also applies age-specific considerations and cultural diversity in patient care and supports the organization’s mission statement.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Coordinate nursing care based on established practice standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Administer treatments and medications as prescribed.
• Utilize the nursing process and apply cognitive and technical knowledge in patient care.
• Supervise unit secretaries and Patient Care Technicians in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of a nursing education program from an NLN approved institution.
• Preferred one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid Registered Nurse license in good standing in the State of Alaska.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work flexible hours and take independent actions within prescribed limits.

Schedule

This position follows a Monday to Friday schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
