Job Description

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with healthcare teams. This role requires monitoring patient progress and implementing individualized care plans to ensure recovery and overall well-being.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, monitoring and assessing patient responses.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, medications, treatments, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and families on managing conditions and preparing for discharge.
• Monitor postoperative patients for complications and ensure proper management of recovery.
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, providing immediate care as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• High acuity unit experience, and mentor/charge experience required.
• Current and unencumbered Ohio Registered Nurse License.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
