Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Neuro

This position offers a Night 3x12-Hour shift from 18:45 to 07:15.

Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Med/Surg Neuro. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive care primarily for stroke patients, along with caring for patients with various neuro diagnoses such as epilepsy and intracranial bleeds. The unit includes a 4 BED Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, and there will be opportunities to float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry areas, including COVID care units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and manage patient care effectively within a 1:6 patient ratio.
• Monitor telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias, managing any identified cardiac issues.
• Participate actively in patient assessments and care planning.
• Provide effective communication and coordination with interdisciplinary teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience.
• Must have completed at least 2 successful travel contracts; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
• Certifications: BCLS, NIH (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale), and NIHSS. ACLS certification preferred but not required.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to the start of the assignment.
