Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Telemetry

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12 hours (07:00 - 19:30). Weekend and holiday shifts included. No call required.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Med-Surg Telemetry unit, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our diverse patient population, which includes individuals with cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal issues, general surgery, and orthopedics. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and established protocols.
• Utilize necessary skills for safe patient care, including the management of insulin, heparin, and lasix drips.
• Monitor and document patient progress, vital signs, and significant changes.
• Float to like acuities or less if required based on unit needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to contribute to the overall care plan.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current NC or compact RN license required at time of submission.
• 1 year of clinical experience in a Med-Surg or Telemetry setting.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI are mandatory.
• Meditech charting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in managing insulin, heparin, and lasix drips is essential.
