Registered Nurse - Med/Surg (Nights)

Schedule

This position will require night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will practice independently within a Med/Surg setting, providing both routine and complex care while demonstrating an awareness of all relevant aspects of the situation. The nurse will work to meet long-range goals and plans, manage clinical contingencies, and make appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given in a timely manner.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and resources as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in New Mexico or current Compact state license.
• BLS Certification via AHA required.
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty.
