Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a 14-bed overflow unit designated for Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) Telemetry. RNs must possess mandatory competencies in phlebotomy and IV placement, as these are crucial skills for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate care to patients in a flexible space, accommodating the needs of ED boarder patients.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, communicating with RN/MD as necessary.
• Perform essential nursing procedures including phlebotomy, IV insertions, and vital sign monitoring.
• Manage care for patients with various diagnoses and requirements, floating to different units as needed.
• Utilize SBAR communication for effective handoffs and updates on patient status.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Valid NY RN license is required for submission.
• Previous charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with EPIC charting system is mandatory.
