Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

This position requires a Night 4x12-Hour shift from 19:00 to 07:00.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) will provide essential care for patients with diverse healthcare needs. RNs must possess competency in phlebotomy and IV placement, as these skills are mandatory. The RN will be expected to interpret and manage dysrhythmias, adhere to IV insulin protocols, and care for feeding tubes, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient caseloads effectively, with night ratios of 6-7 to 1 (stretching to 8-10 if staff calls in).
• Administer medications and manage blood products, including peripheral line care and cardiac drips (without titration).
• Provide wound care and manage tracheostomy care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic patient care with the support of Patient Care Technicians (PCT).
• Float between like units as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Active New York State RN license is required in hand to submit for this position.
• Experience with Epic charting is preferred.
