Registered Nurse - Emergency Room (Night Shift)

Schedule

Night 3x12-Hour Shift: 18:30 - 07:00

Option of 36 or 48 hours per week, with at least 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in urgent need. The role requires a commitment to active patient management and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in the emergency department for various ages, including neonates, adolescents, and geriatrics.
• Perform triage and assess patients' conditions to prioritize care needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV medications and blood products.
• Conduct monitoring and interpretation of vital signs and diagnostic tests.
• Provide comprehensive care for ventilated patients and those requiring advanced interventions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support services to enhance patient care.
• Ensure adherence to infection control standards and safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting, preferred Charge Nurse experience.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health record system preferred.
• Experience in trauma care, especially at Level I or II facilities, preferred.
• Ability to float to similar units as necessary based on facility needs.
