Registered Nurse - Surgical Services

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day Shift: 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday - Friday with some call coverage on weekends. May need to work late on high caseload days.

Job Description

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the surgical services department. Candidates must possess experience in all three areas: Pre-operative (Pre-op), Operating Room (OR/Circulator), and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The RN will function as a primary caregiver across these areas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and document patient care.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Coordinate patient transfers and recover patients post-surgery.
• Circulate cases and assist with processing instruments/equipment in central sterilization.
• Prepare patients for surgery and assist other staff members.
• Provide patient education and maintain adherence to infection control principles.
• Follow national standards from IAHCSMM, AORN, ASGE, and ASPAN.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN licensure in Colorado.
• A minimum of 3 years of Pre-op, OR, and PACU experience preferred.
• ACLS certification required; CNOR certification and scrub experience preferred.
