Registered Nurse - Long Term Care (Full-Time Evenings)

Full-Time Evenings (3pm-11:30pm), every other weekend, and holidays required.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse will oversee the operation of the nursing units and provide clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units. The role involves planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating the Nursing Department's activities consistent with the philosophy of nursing, while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assure quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff on respective shifts.
• Communicate with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding identified and potential unit problems, collaborating to resolve issues.
• Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within the identified scope of responsibility.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• NYS RN Licensure required.
• BLS Certification (through AHA or RQI only) required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of LTC experience and previous supervisory experience required.
