Job Description

Registered Nurse - Endoscopy (Endo RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

The shifts are 4x9s (36 hours per week) with scheduled hours from Monday to Friday, starting between 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM, depending on the assigned role for the day. Additionally, there will be a call rotation requiring 6-8 days of call per month, which must include one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday, with a response time of 1 hour.

Job Description

The Endoscopy Registered Nurse (Endo RN) applies nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills to deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. Responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing collaborative plans of care, providing direct patient care, and coordinating care delivery throughout the patient's episode. The Endo RN handles adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations requiring specialized care for medical conditions and offers education to patients and families regarding self-care post-hospitalization.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient and family needs through active listening and observing reactions.
  • Develop individualized, culturally-relevant care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Set goals, monitor patient progress, and adjust care plans based on patient response.
  • Advocate for and protect patient health, safety, and rights.
  • Educate patients/families on post-hospitalization care, ensuring understanding of self-care practices.
  • Document nursing care and patient responses to education provided.
  • Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to enhance nursing practice.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • NYS RN Licensure (Required)
  • One (1) year of experience serving in an Endo environment as a Registered Nurse (Required)
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS (Required)
