Registered Nurse - Adult Medical/Surgical Unit

Schedule involves D/E/N rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback based on unit needs.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

Join a unique adult medical/surgical unit that caters to patients with active co-morbid psychiatric and/or behavioral issues. This expanding unit is seeking flexible, enthusiastic, and committed nurses to support our growth. Experience in medical-surgical acute care is advantageous, and a willingness to adapt to a diverse patient population in a dynamic environment is essential. Nurses are eligible for dual-certification in both medical/surgical nursing and psychiatric nursing after meeting the required experience criteria.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and competent care to patients with varying medical and psychiatric needs.
• Participate in a collaborative healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond effectively to changes.
• Document nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
• Assist in the development and implementation of patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in New York (Required)
• Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience (Required)
• Experience in psychology (Required)
• Telemetry experience (Required)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (Required)
