Sterile Processing Technician

Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for the sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and medical equipment in accordance with established protocols and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in a Level I Trauma Center and familiarity with various surgical specialties including Neurology, GU, Robotics, ENT, Orthopedics, Transplant, and GYN.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and medical devices.
• Assemble, wrap, and label surgical trays and sets according to established standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterile processing area.
• Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
• National certification required: CBSPD and/or HSPA.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma Center is required.
• No prior travel experience required.

Schedule

This is a 5x8-hour shift position from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with holiday rotation.
