Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality therapeutic interventions as established by the Physical Therapist. This position emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to the organization’s core values and safety protocols. The role includes the implementation of treatment goals, training patients, and assisting in various therapeutic modalities.

Responsibilities

• Embrace and promote patient and employee safety, adhering to facility guidelines and safety protocols.
• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans and therapeutic interventions aimed at achieving patients' long-term goals.
• Train patients in the use of orthotics, prosthetics, and assistive devices.
• Demonstrate proper use of therapeutic modalities and equipment.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and make necessary interventions.
• Document patient progress, response to treatment, and maintain a clean treatment environment.
• Establish professional relationships with patients and collaborate with healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered.
• Participate in team conferences and special projects aimed at enhancing patient care quality.

Schedule

This position offers a 5x8.0 schedule.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certified.
• 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Active or applicable state license.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
